Founded in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2015, Caliber Land focuses on helping clients identify, purchase or sell land acreage across the Southeast. Together, we bring a broad array of experience across multiple professional fields. Our team has more than 50 years of combined experience in real estate investing, commercial and residential brokerage, natural resource management, land acquisitions, and economic development. This diverse skillset is exactly what provides the firm with the competitive advantage in a very niche marketplace.
Our Team
JOHN
NASH
John is the co-founder and general partner of Caliber Land. He has been in the real estate brokerage business since 2012. Diverse industry experience, all focused on the Carolina markets, has enabled him to oversee all aspects of the business as general partner.
Prior to creating Caliber Land, John spent 2 years in Charleston, SC with Lincoln Harris, an affiliate of Lincoln Property Company, in the commercial brokerage division. It was here that he quickly learned that his real passion resided in land sales. John holds a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
MICHAEL WALTERS
Michael is a co-founder and general partner of Caliber Land. He has been actively involved in real estate since 1981, and has functioned as a broker, investor and advisor in many transactions across the region.
With an extensive background in agricultural economics and the forest products industry, Michael specializes in identifying rural investment opportunities, and maximizing their upside potential. Michael is a graduate of North Carolina State University.
ROBIE CURRIE
Robie is a North Carolina native that has spent his entire career in the land management and forest products industries. Naturally, Robie became involved in raw land sales with a particular focus on natural resources and timberland investments in 2014.
Robie Graduated from North Carolina State University where he earned his degree in forest management. He is still a registered forester with the state and actively helps with timberland sales and management for many of our clients across the Carolinas.
BILLY CIPRIANI
Billy is a North Carolina native that has spent most of his career in the natural resources and land management arena. Aside from land sales, Billy’s added experience as a registered forester has given him vast exposure to wetland mitigation and restoration projects, environmental monitoring and reforestation.
Billy is also a combat veteran who was forward deployed to Iraq in 2003. There he served as an explosives and demolitions team leader. He continues to lead our team in land and wildlife management and works directly with landowners to help improve their recreational properties. Billy lives with his wife and two kids in Rockingham, NC.
WILL
KLEMME
Will joined Caliber Land in 2018 as our Lead Research Analyst and brings an extensive background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Geography. Will graduated from UNC-Wilmington where he earned a degree in this field, and his technical knowledge is an invaluable resource to the Caliber team.
Will also earned his real estate license in 2018 and actively helps buyers and sellers achieve their goals. Prior to graduating, Will had a strong desire to pursue a career in land sales, which was fueled by his love for the outdoors.
MATT HERBERT
Matt is a South Carolina native who has spent his entire career in the forest products industries. With experience in the fields of forest management, sustainability, and timber procurement over the past eleven years, Matt’s firsthand knowledge of the timber markets provides our clients with real time market analysis and long-range forecasts throughout the state.
Matt graduated from Clemson University where he earned his degree in forest management. He is a registered forester in South Carolina where he assists with timberland and recreational sales as well as forest management. Matt and his growing family live in Anderson, SC.
ROB
RATLIFF
Rob is a South Carolina native who has spent his entire career in the agriculture industry. After graduating from Clemson University in 2010 with a degree in Agricultural Economics, Rob spent 10 years with a major seed company focusing on forage and wildlife seeds. There he worked closely with farmers and recreational landowners alike to develop management plans for their property. In 2021 Rob moved to North Carolina to work with one of the East Coast’s largest turfgrass producers. Rob joined the Caliber Land team in October of 2023.
Rob has a passion for people and the outdoors and is an invaluable asset to our team helping both buyers and sellers unlock the full potential of their property. Rob and his wife, Julia, live in Wilmington, N.C.
